From MicrasWiki

The Trade Unions Congress of Hurmu purports to represent organised labour throughout the states and districts of Hurmu. Organised by activists from the Communist Workers' Party it swiftly established cadres throughout the agrarian, industrial, and transportation sectors of the economy, as well as amongst the self-employed occupants of so-called work homes who had begun to organise against perceived exploitation by their "landlord/service providers".

The trade unions movement was declared to be a criminal conspiracy against the Brida by the executive of Hurmu on 18.XIII.1720, and membership of the congress and any affiliated organisation to be prohibited accordingly.

Key constituents

  • Maritime and Riverine Workers Association: representing 103,990 members of the Hurmudan fishing fleet;
  • Transport and Communication Workers Union: Membership in the ports and airports.
