Suhaila Rafiq (born 1693 AN, aged 69) was Ataliq between 1738 and 1757 AN. She is married to Haani Darwish and thus became a member of the Woodrow line. Together, they have three daughters:
- Shitala Darwish (♀, 1718- )
- Madri Darwish (♀, 1721- )
- Indu Darwish (♀, 1724- )
Career
After graduating from the University of Šer-Ku-Riž, Suhaila began her career at the court in Maulikpur. Within a few years, she became a judge at first instance. She later became a judge at second instance in Keruliya.
In 1738 AN, she was appointed Ataliq by the Shahanshah. The appointment came rather suddenly following the deposition of Zahra al-Osman as Ataliq. Nevertheless, there was criticism of Suhaila’s appointment, as her daughter was married to a member of the Vinandy-Windsor family, who were related to the Shahanshah. In 1757 AN, she resigned and retired.
