The State Bank of the Order of the Holy Lakes is the central bank of the Order of the Holy Lakes (i.e., Hurmu). It was established on 11.X.1704 as the State Bank of Hurmu following the Eighth Senate's passage of the Currency Act. Since 1718, the State Bank answers directly to the Secretary of State for the Bank, Mint and Press.

The State Bank safeguards monetary stability by issuing currency, regulating credit, and maintaining confidence in the financial system. It acts as banker to the state and the Order's institutions and serves as lender of last resort, setting central interest rates, etc.
