Synopsis

Tells the heartbreaking sad story of Sakura Orimoto (織本 桜, Orimoto Sakura?, potrayed by Marie Flynn-Akabane) who had to endure various obstacles and trials with her grandmother since they were abandoned by her mother when she were young, living in a remote fishing village in the Glorioso (Karenkō) Islands called Kanseiyoru Village. Although Sakura was abandoned by her mother, she continued to persevere in her poor life with her beloved grandmother, Grandma Mabiko.

Sakura is now about to take the DSEE exam. Sometimes, Sakura has to skip school because of Mabiko's (potrayed by Betty Joe Flynn-Fletcher) health problems who need her care. At the same time, Sakura's school, Kanseiyoru Senior High School, also accepts the admission of a new teacher, Airi Matsuno (松野 愛莉, Matsuno Airi?, potrayed by Tomoki Minamoto), who is the youngest trainee at the teacher training college and the same age as the students, eighteen. Sakura's constant absence from class makes Airi wonder. But without questioning, Airi continues to fine Sakura.

Until one day, Uncle Tatsumi goes to see the school principal to tell him about Mabiko had being hospitalized. Only then did Airi know the main reason why Shakira often missed school. Ever since Airi tried to give encouraging words and be Sakura's companion while she was in the hospital, they began to hold a feeling in each other's hearts.

Kageyama Matsuno (松野 影山, Matsuno Kageyama?), Airi's uncle, is a rich businessman who always gives alms to orphans and the poor, including Sakura. Kageyama also treats Sakura like his own child. Six months have passed and Sakura thought she had finished taking DSEE. One day, Kageyama seemed restless and had problems. When Sakura asked, Kageyama actually wanted to propose to Sakura. Sakura was very surprised.

What will happen next? Will Sakura marry Kageyama to repay the favor of the man she considers her father? Or will Sakura wait for the return of her first love, Airi? Who will Sakura choose?
