Ricardo Alejandro Esperanza Vidal (born 12.VII.1679 AN) is a New Alexandrian television producer, director, and former actor who founded Estrella Naranja Studios in 1712 AN. Born to a middle-class family in Punta Santiago, Alduria, Esperanza began his career as a stage actor in the Aldurian theater scene during the late 1690 ANs before transitioning to the emerging television industry in the early 1710 ANs. His production company has created some of Nouvelle Alexandrie's most successful and culturally significant telenovelas, including Corazones de Cárdenas (1718 AN-1721 AN), Amor en las Islas (1725 AN-1728 AN), Secretos del Palacio (1735 AN-1738 AN), and the current international hit La Novia de Santander (1743 AN-present).

Esperanza is widely credited with pioneering the "New Alexandrian telenovela" format that incorporates multiple regional languages, particularly Alexandrian, Martino, and Wechua, as well as diverse cultural elements from across the Federation's twelve Regions. This innovative approach has made his productions enormously popular throughout Nouvelle Alexandrie and has led to successful international distribution deals with networks in Constancia, Natopia, and Sanama. Under his leadership, Estrella Naranja Studios has become the largest independent television production company in the Federation, employing over 1,200 people across multiple regional studios.

Beyond his commercial success, Esperanza has been recognized for his contributions to New Alexandrian culture and national unity. His telenovelas frequently feature storylines that bridge regional and cultural divides, and he has been praised for providing opportunities for actors and crew members from all backgrounds. He has received numerous awards from the New Alexandrian Television Academy, including the Lifetime Achievement Award in 1740 AN, and was named a Commander of the Federal Order of Merit in 1738 AN by King Sinchi Roca for his contributions to national entertainment and cultural cohesion.

Esperanza married Elena Moreau, daughter of a prominent Alexandrian publishing family, in 1705 AN. The couple had two children: Carlos, who tragically died in a car accident in 1740 AN, and daughter Valentina Esperanza, who works within the family business. Following his son's death, Esperanza has increasingly relied on his daughter-in-law, Isabella Esperanza-Moreau, who has taken on greater executive responsibilities within Estrella Naranja Studios while continuing her successful acting career.
