Operation Claensian-Fyr is a Nova English initiative to stop the spread of the White Plague within the sovereign territory of Nova England.
Following the collapse of Caputia, specialist teams from the National Health Institute were dispatched to its former territories to confirm reports that multiple outbreaks of the deadly fungal disease known as the White Plague had been a factor in the collapse of Caputia’s national government. Despite logistical difficulties the teams were able to confirm that multiple outbreaks had occurred and that due to the collapse of local governance the disease was spreading unchecked.
Upon the receipt of this information the NHI immediately advised its partners in the Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Internal Affairs before securing authorisation by the Witan Chief to enact Operation Claensian-Fyr.
National Quarantine
On DATE AJ all border crossing points into the Kingdom of Nova England were closed without further notice. Elements of the Nova English Army and specialised Sanitation Squads from the NHI were mobilised to bolster National Police Force border units. In coastal regions the Nova English Navy and Fisheries Patrol Group began undertaking patrols within Nova English Sovereign Waters in an attempt to dissuade any incoming shipping.
Foreign nationals within Nova England have been provided with transport to crossing points with the Republic of Mercury and the Condominium of New Sussex. While those on existing visas may be offered extensions at the discretion of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Nova English citizens outside of the Faedertellus at the time of the quarantine have been diverted to quarantine processing centres located on the Warring Islands and the crossing points with Mercury and New Sussex. During the course of the National Quarantine the import and export of all goods has been suspended. With the exception of goods deemed to be of key national importance that are to be processed by specialist NHI teams.
Notable Events
- At 0430 (CMT+9) on the 06/13/1004AJ a mob of miscreants attempted to cross the south eastern border of Nova England. Local People's Militia patrols reported the breach to the NHI and secured the local area. Soon after a Buladocga from the Nova English Royal Air Force dropped a WM12 munition to neutralise the quarantine breach. Once the nerve agent had sufficiently dispersed NHI Sanitation Squads cleared the area of any biological threats.
- In 06/13/1005AJ the National Health Institute authorised pre-emptive ‘Sanitation Strikes’ against settlements and People Smuggler camps within the Green. In addition to this pamphlets were airdropped into uninfected areas within the Green illustrating information on ‘hot’ zones and appropriate precautions.
- In 09/02/1007AJ NHI Sanitation Squads supported by elements of the Nova English Army and Nova English Royal Air Force push further south into the green to create a buffer zone. Local militias within the affected area of the Green begin to form and declare allegiance to the Faedertellus. Those found to be resisting Nova English Forces are identified as harbouring infected persons and are subsequently ‘sanitised’.
- At 1345 (CMT+9) on the 05/05/1007AJ the leader of the Nova English Nationalist Party is killed by a car bomb. Terrorists from CNUT claim responsibility in the name of those killed and displaced in the Green by Operation Claensian-Fyr. The Nova English Nationalist Party’s controversial deputy Alhfrith Johnson is made leader and vows that the death of their previous leader will not be in vain.
- In 03/09/1007AJ the Nova English Army began the construction of a number of forward operating bases and airstrips throughout the ‘Buffer Zone’.
- In 07/02/1008AJ Lieutenant Colonel Alric Turner is selected as Military Governor of the Burwood Buffer Zone. Operatives from the National Defence Initiative and the Ministry of Internal Affairs enter the region to supervise approved settlements.
- In 11/10/1010AJ the National Health Institute lifts the National Quarantine, declaring victory over the White Plague in Keltia. However soldiers from the Nova English Armed Forces remain stationed in the buffer zone.
