Martin de la Rochelle was a merchant in textiles, born in 1619 in Port Portela in Alexandria as the eldest son of Emmanuel de la Rochelle. On one of his business trips to Shirekeep, Shireroth, he met Annemarie Barentsz who was visiting the city with her friends. It is said that Annemarie was smitten because of Martin de la Rochelle's accent and the way he dressed himself in clothes cut from fine fabrics. The two fell in love and lived together for a while in Port Portela, until the Alexandrian Empire fell to the Alexandrian Flu in 1750. They had several children while living in Port Portela, of which Aloïs de la Rochelle is the most notable as he would become the grandfather of Princess Emilia Antoinette of Aemilia. After the fall of Alexandria, the family moved to Stadt Taktwinkel, then in the Green, which would become the family residence for many generations. Martin de la Rochelle died during a business trip to Louisville, where a fashion scene started to develop, but he was buried in Stadt Taktwinkel.
