Jerson Ramirez Ortega nicknamed El Tore is a Dauian professional football player who plays as a defender for Daau Super League side Catang Evergrande FC.
As a center-back, Jerson can also move up the pitch by playing in the central defensive midfielder role.
Club career
ANCM Youth
Born in Sudah, Jerson would be quickly recruited by Jurong-based ANC Mericano's youth setup during a youth tournament.
Jerson started in the ANCM Youth setup, joining at the age of 8.
ANC Mericano
Although being one of the most talented centrebacks coming through the academy ranks, Jerson would make his debut for the first team one year later after his professional contract was signed. He played the full 90 minutes against Daau City which resulted in an ANC Mericano victory.
Daau United
A year before ANC's retirement from professional football, Jerson would be signed by Daau United for Cr 300k.
Jerson would only make 23 appearances for the main squad while scoring 2 goals.
Seragaan FC
Jerson would join the Seragaan club in August of 2019. He would slowly build up his reputation of being the wall of Seragaan as he saved Seragaan from relegation with a crucial block against Bintang Lukana to give Seragaan the win in the 2019-20 season. Jerson left the club following relegation stating that he was unhappy at the club.
Catang Evergrande
Ortega signed for DSL side and Relegation Playoff victors Catang Evergrande on a free ahead of the 2024-25 season.
International career
Jerson would accept the callup from the Matabese national football team for the January friendlies in 2023. However he was never given an official international appearance by the Matabese national team despite calls for training camps and pre-tournament trainings. Jerson rescinded his offer to play for Mataba and opted to give up his Matabese citizenship in trade for his Dauian citizenship when the Matabese Autonomy bill came into action. His decision to do so meant that he would no longer be eligible to play for Mataba and thus angered many Matabese fans and the MFF.
Personal Life
Born to an ethnic Tim family of Santanderan descent, Jerson is the younger brother of Zack Ortega, who once played in Craitland for Eĵars Town FC.
