Hurmu–Zeed Friendship Society
The Hurmu–Zeed Friendship Society (HZFS) is a non-governmental organisation active in both Hurmu and Zeed. Its purpose is to foster cultural, trade and social relations between Hurmu and Zeed. It was founded by Zeed's, by Hurmu's point of view, surprising measures of solidarity when Hurmu established itself as a state, with for example aid missions to Lontinien to set up a border guard against the Green.
The HZFS has branches in most larger cities in Zeed, as well as in Hurmu. It has two headquarters, one in Vesüha and one is Rusjar. In Hurmu, the HZFS organises cultural evenings with Zeed themes, book clubs with literature from or about Zeed, as well as exhibitions on Zeed art and history. In Zeed, HZFS organises cultural evenings with Hurmu themes, book clubs with literature from or about Hurmu, as well as exhibitions on Hurmu art and history.
The chairman of the HZFS is Elias Stoordalen from Hurmu, and the secretary is Mahmud Abdullahi from Zeed.
In 1694, the HZFS assisted some 15,000 Zeedic citizens, and 8 persons of Republic of Tarrland nationality, to come to Hurmu as refugees. They were all given asylum as war refugees. Two thirds of these chose to settle in Vadimbaatar.
