The HMS Nouvelle Horizon is the official royal yacht of the King of Nouvelle Alexandrie. The yacht is a gift from the people of Nouvelle Alexandrie partly from private fundraising and partly as a gift from the Pontecorvo Firm, organized by the Committee for the Royal Yacht in 1720 AN, following the 1718 Condor shoot-down incident and the death of King Manco Capac. The yacht is owned by the King, but it is maintained and crewed by the Federal Navy. Built in Pontecorvo, Alduria between 1722 AN and 1724 AN, the HMS Nouvelle Horizon was commissioned in late 1724 AN.

History

The idea for a new royal yacht was conceived following the tragic death of King Manco Capac in the 1718 Condor shoot-down incident. To honor his memory and provide a state-of-the-art vessel for the royal family, the Committee for the Royal Yacht was established in 1720 AN. The committee, composed of prominent political leaders, naval officers, and representatives from the Pontecorvo Firm, aimed to create a yacht that embodied the nation's commitment to innovation, luxury, and sustainability. The committee launched a nationwide fundraising campaign, garnering substantial contributions from both private donors and corporate sponsors. The Pontecorvo Firm, renowned for its expertise in shipbuilding and design, offered significant support, both financial and technical, to ensure the project's success.

Construction

Construction of the HMS Nouvelle Horizon began in early 1722 AN at the Pontecorvo Shipbuilding Yards in Pontecorvo, Alduria. The yacht was designed and built by the Pontecorvo Firm and Xavier Marin & Co.. The construction phase involved over 2,000 skilled workers and engineers. The yacht's hull was crafted from lightweight composite materials, enhancing both speed and fuel efficiency. The hybrid diesel-electric propulsion system, combined with IntelliSOL solar power arrays and wind turbines, ensured that the Nouvelle Horizon was at the forefront of sustainable maritime design. The yacht was launched in mid-1723 AN and underwent extensive sea trials to test its performance and capabilities before being commissioned in late 1724 AN.
