Fenixtune International Airport is the largest airport in the Grand Duchy of Iselande. The airport serves all routes between Iselande and metropolitan Meckelnburgh via Alexandretta. It is the hub of Royal Meckelnburgh Airways in Iselande.
History
Fenixtune was previously operated as Hellistelli International Airport (Jääkieli: Hellistellin kansainvälinen lentoasema) and was the only international airport in Jääland, home to Air Jääland. Hellistelli lied on the Boreal Air Bridge route between Benacia and Lyrica (and Eura). The airport was destroyed via orbital bombardment, initiated by the Raspur Pact, in late 1707 AN, following the fall of Jaaland to internal disorder in The Troubles. Subsequently, rebuilding began in the winter of 1708–1709 AN on the start of Meckelnburghish administration.
Memorial
Fenixtune International Airport is also home to the grounds of The Troubles National Memorial, a unit of the Meckelnburgh Royal Parks Service. The site serves as a memorial to the human and environmental destruction of The Troubles. It includes remnants of the original Hellistelli airport terminal.
