Exercise Krasnovian Dawn is a major field exercise of the Imperial Constancian Armed Forces to test the readiness of the Armed Forces of Zeed for battle, premised on the assumption of a sudden attack from external forces with zero time for preparation. This exercise also presupposed a two-month intelligence warning of hostilities.
This was also a test of the governance systems and structure of the Commonwealth of Zeed when it came to crisis situations, planning, and operationalization.
Background
The scenario presupposes hinterland infiltration by the Imperial Constancian Armed Forces, referenced as the hostile force, "Krasnovians", with the intent to subdue the Commonwealth of Zeed militarily. Volunteers from the integrated Suren Confederation were also utilized as irregular infantry and dissidents. There would be no strategic surprise, because in this scenario, Zeed would be provided warning indicators before actual invasion day, but this would be tempered by the poor logistics and transportation of Zeed.
Prelude
The Krasnovians, comprising infantry and armored units, cross the hinterland border between Zeed and Constancia (renamed Krasnovia for exercise purposes). This exercise is a test of reaction time both for the Commonwealth government and the Armed Forces of Zeed to transition from peacetime to actual wartime deployment.
