Exercise Arctic Sentinel was a large-scale joint military exercise conducted by the armed forces of Nouvelle Alexandrie and Normark from 13.VIII to 23.VIII.1735 AN. The exercise took place primarily in northern Normark and focused on enhancing interoperability between the two Raspur Pact allies, as well as testing their capabilities in arctic and subarctic warfare conditions.
Background
Following the Normark's victory in the Normark-Cerulea war of 1727 and the ongoing modernization efforts of both nations' armed forces, military leaders from Nouvelle Alexandrie and Normark recognized the need for increased cooperation and joint training. The exercise was designed to address potential security challenges in Keltia and to strengthen the military alliance between the two nations.
Scope and Objectives
Exercise Arctic Sentinel was designed with several key objectives in mind. The primary focus was on enhancing interoperability between the Federal Forces of Nouvelle Alexandrie and the Nordhær, ensuring smooth coordination and communication between the two allied forces. Additionally, the exercise aimed to test and improve arctic warfare capabilities, recognizing the unique challenges posed by the harsh northern environment. Joint command and control procedures were practiced extensively, allowing both forces to refine their collaborative decision-making processes. A crucial aspect of the exercise involved evaluating the effectiveness of new equipment and technologies in cold weather conditions, providing valuable insights for future deployments and acquisitions. Lastly, the exercise served as a platform for strengthening diplomatic and military ties between Nouvelle Alexandrie and Normark, reinforcing their alliance and mutual commitment to regional security.
Scenarios and Activities
Exercise Arctic Sentinel encompassed a wide range of military activities and scenarios, including:
- Arctic amphibious landing operations
- Air defense and anti-aircraft exercises
- Long-range artillery and missile drills
- Cold weather survival and logistics training
- Joint air-ground coordination exercises
- Cyber warfare simulations
- Search and rescue operations in extreme conditions
A significant portion of the exercise focused on the integration of new technologies and equipment, such as the Vulcan Advanced Air Defense System and F-19 Greystrike fighters from Nouvelle Alexandrie, alongside Normark's recently acquired BK-VIII Light Infantry Scout Vehicles.
