Estate Maienau

The Estate Maienau is located on the island of the same name near the town of Gravenstadt in the Oerdiep. The estate is owned by the House of Vinandy and consists of various gardens and palaces. The estate is accessible via a dam and bridge on the west side. There is a private port on the southeast side.

The name of the estate is a corruption of the Catolog (Latin): "mansionis in insula", which means "country house on an island". Nowadays there are several country houses or palaces on the island. The baroque palace is a residence of the king of Batavia. In the past, a country house was available to the emperor of Natopia.
