Biternion Memorial Act

The Biternion Memorial Act is a law of the Order of the Holy Lakes. Introduced by Eva von Hutten, it was adopted by the Senate of the Lakes on 10.XIV.1746.
Debate
Text of the Act
Whereas the M/V Biternion sank on 12.XIII.1735 in the northern waters of Shire Sea, and
Whereas this resulted in the loss of life of 3,160 retainers of the Fyrð, 414 members of the Order, and 5,735 individuals in total
Therefore, the Senate of the Lakes, enacts, as follows:
- A suitable memorial to the deceased members of the Fyrð and members of the Order shall be established in the gardens of the Palace of the Elenaran.
- Maintenance of the memorial shall be the responsibility of the Senate the Lakes.
- A suitable memorial ceremony shall be conducted annually on XIII.12, the M/V Biternion Memorial Day.
- The cost of this memorial shall be borne by private donations and such sums appropriated by the Senate.
