Shire Sea

The Shire Sea is a sea located between the continents of Benacia and Apollonia. It is named after the Imperial Republic of Shireroth, which dominated the lands surrounding the sea for several centuries. The sea is known for its strategic importance, bustling trade routes, and diverse marine life.

History

The Shire Sea has played a significant role in the history of Micras, particularly in the expansion and conquests of the Imperial Republic of Shireroth. In 1451 AN, Kaiser Gaelen I crossed the sea and landed at what would later be called Gaelen's Landing, marking the beginning of Shireroth's expansion beyond its original Benacian borders. Over time, Shireroth grew to become the dominant power in the region, controlling numerous Apollonian territories and cities along the coastlines of the Shire Sea which would eventually form the Dutchy of Kildare.

The Shire Sea has been a key factor in Shireroth's early successes, providing access to valuable resources such as fish, oil, and strategic locations for naval bases and ports. Those traveling through the region can still accidentally end up at one of the many Sancts of the former Duchy of Straylight.The sea has also been a major route for trade, connecting nations and regions across Micras.
