Benacian North Sea Tour 1753

The Benacian North Sea Tour of 1753 was an exploratory and goodwill mission of the Benacian Union to the ports and coastline of the Northern Sea of Apollonia that commenced in the early months of 1753 AN, having first assembled at Chryse.

At the command of the First Consul, all realms and institutions of the Union-State were invited to contribute a ship and their most learned and distinguished personages to bring the light of Benacian culture and civilisation to the far north shores of Apollonia.

The key objectives of the tour would be the advancement of trade, diplomacy, and scientific and technological exchange. In many respects the tour would represent the relaunch of the Benacian Union on the international stage following the constitutional reforms of 1752.

Security for the flotilla of fraternal amity would be provided by a small task group from the Maritime Forces of the Benacian Union, which would remain in international waters except in the instance of a scheduled visit to a port under the authority of an allied government.
