Armaments of Alduria is a state-owned defense manufacturer of Nouvelle Alexandrie, headquartered in Punta Santiago. It produces small arms, artillery, ammunition and explosives, and defense electronics for the Federal Forces of Nouvelle Alexandrie and for Raspur Pact partners. It is one of the country's principal government-owned military contractors, alongside the Wechua Manufacturing Corporation, the National Research and Development Corporation, and the United Manufacturing Corporation.

Armaments of Alduria is a founding member of the Aldurian Defense Consortium, the joint public-private research grouping that developed the Silver Hammer Air Defense System, for which the company builds the detection and tracking radar.

History

The firm traces its origins to the small-arms factories that operated around Punta Santiago, Narbonne, and Hatkrou from about 1661 AN, several of which inherited weapons-making infrastructure from the period when those cities formed part of Alexandria. When the Republic of Alduria was founded in 1669 AN, it acquired a large stock of surplus arms, artillery, and munitions from the Armée Altusienne Unie and the Punta Santiago Arsenal. The government of President Alejandro Campos consolidated these workshops and the arsenal's production lines into a single state enterprise around 1670 AN, giving the young Republic a domestic source of infantry weapons and ammunition consistent with its policy of armed neutrality.

During Alduria's years of armed neutrality the company concentrated on upgrading, repairing, and manufacturing small arms and explosives for the Aldurian military. The West Baatharzi War and the Verionian-Raspur War drove sustained investment in domestic production, and after Alduria acceded to the Raspur Pact the firm gained access to allied technology and a steady export market. Following the federation of Alduria and the Wechua Nation in 1685 AN and the later formation of Nouvelle Alexandrie, Armaments of Alduria was retained as a federal state-owned contractor rather than privatized, on the grounds that a sovereign source of small arms and ammunition was a strategic necessity.

Products

Armaments of Alduria manufactures a broad line of infantry small arms, towed and light artillery, and the ammunition, propellants, and explosives that support them. Its munitions plants supply both service and export orders, and the company is one of several suppliers qualified to produce standard Raspur Pact ammunition natures. Alongside this ordnance work, the firm maintains a defense-electronics division specializing in fire-control and sensor equipment.

Under the Industrial Readiness and Mobilization Plan adopted as part of Force 1760, the company's ammunition and explosives plants are treated as a core element of the Federation's mobilization base, capable of expanding output of standard natures on established lines. Its products complement rather than compete with those of Rimarima Armaments, the Federation's chartered prime for armored fighting vehicles, and Fábrica de Balística Parap, the mid-tier small-arms and munitions specialist.

Silver Hammer and the Aldurian Defense Consortium

Armaments of Alduria is one of the four members of the Aldurian Defense Consortium, together with the National Research and Development Corporation, Javelin Industries, and Kerularios & Company. The consortium was formed to pool research on weapon systems too complex for any single member, and its best-known product is the Silver Hammer, a mobile counter-rocket, artillery, and short-range air-defense system. In the Silver Hammer program the company is responsible for the detection and tracking radar, developed jointly with the Aldurian Armed Forces; the National Research and Development Corporation integrates the battle-management system and Javelin Industries supplies the Geneva 1 interceptor. The system was first fielded in 1675 AN along the Nouradin river during the West Baatharzi War, intercepting about 95% of incoming rockets and shells in its first year of operations.
