Wechua Manufacturing Corporation (WMC) is a state-owned defense manufacturer of Nouvelle Alexandrie, headquartered in Rimarima, the principal industrial center of the Wechua Nation. It produces small arms, ammunition, and military vehicles and field equipment, and carries out licensed manufacturing of designs held by other firms. It is one of the Federation's principal government-owned military contractors, alongside Armaments of Alduria, the National Research and Development Corporation, and the United Manufacturing Corporation.

The corporation is the largest state-owned defense enterprise in the Wechua regions. It shares the Rimarima industrial district with the older and larger Rimarima Armaments, the Federation's chartered prime for armored fighting vehicles, whose presence long predates the state firm.

History

Before the Great Restoration of 1673 AN, the Wechua Nation had only a small native defense industry and depended for most of its hardware on the Raspur Pact and on its western neighbor, Caputia. The Wechua Spring civil war impressed on the government that state-owned production was needed to guarantee that Wechua forces could be armed without relying on outside suppliers. When the government-in-exile of Sapa Wechua Manco Cápac I returned to Parap in 1673 AN with the backing of the Raspur Pact and re-established the state, rebuilding a sovereign arms industry became an early priority of the reconstruction.

The Wechua Manufacturing Corporation was established in 1674 AN as a state enterprise to consolidate this effort, drawing on the industrial base of Rimarima. Under the liberalizing economic reforms of Inkap Rantin Vicaquirao Alvarez, the government paired the state corporation with regulatory preference and investment for a wider circle of sixteen defense start-up companies and contractors, assisted by Raspur Pact partners such as Constancia and Natopia and by the Republic of Alduria. The corporation predated the broader United Manufacturing Corporation, founded in 1678 AN, and the two were retained as complementary state firms after the federation of Alduria and the Wechua Nation in 1685 AN.

Products and operations

The Wechua Manufacturing Corporation concentrates on infantry small arms, ammunition, and general military manufacturing, including field equipment and soft-skin and utility vehicles. A substantial share of its work is licensed production of designs originated by other New Alexandrian and allied firms, a role that lets the Federation second-source key items and spread manufacturing capacity across its regions.

Where the United Manufacturing Corporation provides a broad reserve of convertible civilian manufacturing capacity, WMC is a dedicated defense producer. Under the Industrial Readiness and Mobilization Plan adopted as part of Force 1760, its small-arms and ammunition lines are counted among the Federation's fast-surge sources, able to expand output using existing tooling and stocks. Its output complements that of Armaments of Alduria and of the neighboring Rimarima Armaments.
