Akçay Osman (1582–1688) was a Birgesh-born merchant and statesman in Whales. Lord of Shintakushima (1684–1688), member of the Greater Frenzy from 1685 until his death.

Born in O-taku, Shintakushima, to a family of cobblers, he inherited the family business upon the death of his parents at the age of 14. At the age of 27, his business had grown to include rental properties. Over the next decades, his business expanded more and more, and he became quite wealthy.

Married in 1610, he had four sons and three daughters. None but fourteen of his 54 descendants lived beyond the destruction of the Birgesh island in 1684–1685.

After the destruction of the Birgesh island, now renamed Shintakushima, he acquired the rest of the island for a cheap sum, in effect becoming its lord, and was so recognized by Viceroy Kir in 1684. Lord Osman then concluded a deal with the government of the Two Martyrs, whereby he would leave the island to whomsoever the government chose, as long as the welfare of his descendants would be taken care of. His children and grandchildren had already emigrated to Asara Eliana at this point.

He died in the hospital of Walstadt on 7.VII.1688, surrounded by his family. Three days later, in accordance with the religion of Lord Osman, he was buried in Shintakushima. Prince Kir, Regent Áþamé Issèla Mari Vāstra, and other nobles were in attendance.

He was survived by a son, Timur, and thirteen grandchildren (among them, Tanaydin Osman-Kubilay von Szintakuszima). They were all given the noble particle "von Szintakuszima".
