Riband of the Order of the Eagle

The Most Honourable Order of the Eagle was established by HRM King Charles III in 1801. The order recognizes "Citizens and foreigners for services to the Sovereign of Gotzborg, and as a token of his personal goodwill". The Eagle is the entry level Order of Knighthood in the Kingdom and is awarded to the greatest variety of persons, both foreign and national and represents both military and civilian contributions to the Kingdom.

History

Grades

The ribbon of the order is blue with a narrow white centre stripe, except for the ribbon of "Collar", which is blue with 2 white stripes on the edges.

The Order of the Eagle comes in six classes as follows:

  • (GCE) Grand Cross - Limited to the Royal Family and Foreign Heads of State.
  • (KCE) Knight Commander - Limited to Ducal rank, General Officer ranks in the Armed Forces, senior government positions, and foreign Heads of State.
  • (KOE) Knight Officer - Limited to existing Knight rank and above or foreign dignitaries.
  • (KE) Knight - May be awarded to any person. Carries with it the dignity of being addressed by Sir/Dame.
  • (OE) Officer - May be awarded to any person, citizen or foreign.
  • (CE) Companion - May be awarded to any person, citizen or foreign.
