Qualification for the Men's rugby league tournament at the 2018 Micras Games will determined by a series of regional round-robin competitions. Hosts Jingdao received an automatic berth, while the other thirty-one entrants have an opportunity to qualify for ten spots in the Micras Games. The first stage of qualification is via the continental championships organised by the FMRL, from which, the three cup winners will qualify. The second stage will be played over a number of round-robin groups, and is open to all members of the FMS. Seven teams will qualify through this stage. An additional berth is available via the repechage round, which will be contested by the highest-ranked unqualified nations.
