Hamland is a state in North West Keltia. It is semi-secessionist and was the capital state of the United Commonwealth.
History(non-fictional)
Hamland was started on the 12th of September 2006 when the current [King]] came up with the idea of claiming 1 square centimeter of land and using that to secede. This plan quickly grew and as Hamland started as a secessionist nation, it began to have simulationist aims.
Hamland was started as a Hampire, where the Hamperor is the supreme ruler of the state, but this was scrapped and Hamland became the Socialist state of Hamland in late 2006. After a period of Hamland nearing it's end, Hamland restored the Hamperor and a "Trimocracy" was formed where the Hamperor, the Prime-minister and the leader of the opposition would get to vote on decisions. This plan did not last long.
In August 2007, Hamland was restored to a Hampire, and began to claim land on Micras. In December 2007 the country was renamed "the Kingdom of Hamland"
History
Hamland came into existence when the Hammish People's settled in the Hammish Peninsula. They formed their own state which eventually got independence and became a Hampire.
Hamland's monarch is shared by other nations, and so Hamland became the capital state of the United Commonwealth.
Geography
Hamland is found near Passas, and next to New Brittania's Virgin Islands. The climate of Hamland is temperate, with the high mountains of the north supplying the water to New Kirriemuir and the central bogs giving water to the coastal cities.
The nation consists of 6 major cities; New Kirriemuir, Hamlet O'Groppa, Port Kilbay, Morfaga, Eel bay and Porapa (English = Caput). 5 out of 6 of these are on the coast of Hamland, and this is due to the large fishing industry to the coasts.
The Hammish capital, New Kirriemuir, is located where there was a large mining industry and is central to the largest; Trumpet, toastie maker and rubber chicken factories in the world.
Hamland's second city, Morfaga, is the main port for transport and is located on the east coast.
Famous Attractions
The most famous attractions in Hamland are "Salt Palace" and "Eel bay fort".
Eel Bay fort was built as a military base and was one of the most advanced of its kind int the old days. But now it's main use is to attract tourists, but areas are still used by the army of Hamland.
The Salt Palace is the residence of the King. This is the only palace of it's kind in Hamland and has two large domes on it. On the top of one dome is the flag of Hamland, and on the other is the flag of the Commonwealth. In the square there is a third flag which is the flag of the King which is only allowed for Royal or military use.
Politics
Hamland has a multiple party system, with the Hamland Nationalist Party, The Social Democratic Party and Democratic Party.
The Current prime Minister is Prime Minister Duke Juan.
