Administrative divisions of Sanama

Sanama is divided into four tiers of subdivisions:

1. The union
2. People's Republics
3. Cantons
4. Communes and cities

On the neighborhood level, parakal committees are formed to handle local issues, neighborhood security, and a forum for dialogue and reconciliation. Following the new constitution from 1707, the people's republics are no longer sovereign entities, instead forming subdivisions within a unitary state. However, the lowest tier has remained largely the same since independence in 1671.

People's republics

The Sanaman Union of People's Republics consists of 17 people's republics and the capital city, Semisa City. Of the 17 people's republics, seven have special characteristics. Fatehpur Sikri and Niyi are metropolitan regions with large populations, together they contain a third of the entire population of Sanama. Cisamarra, Ailan Feq, the Laq Republic, Estarisa and Gogledd Cybwl are characterised as ethnic republics, organised by the Cisamarrese, Yardistani, Laqi, Estarisan and Calbain peoples respectively. Cisamarra is also an autonomous people's republic.

The Sanaman Antarctic Territory and Semisa City are not people's republics, instead organised separately.
The SAT with an area of 104,173 km² is usually not counted as a top-level subdivision due to its lack of permanent population.

Cantons

The People's republics are divided into 101 cantons. Semisa City forms a separate canton, and Estarisa consists of only one canton.
