The Stadio San Giuann is a football stadium in the city of Cossa, Vegno.

The stadium, which features a retractable roof, currently has a capacity of 65,000 for football games, and is the home of Cossa United, F.C. Cossa Perfection and the Vegno national football team.

History

The stadium was inaugurated in 2022, on the occasion of the first edition of the Lega A Vegnese, still known as Campionato Vegnese. The construction was the work of the national government of Vegno, which still owns it today, despite the wishes of Cossa's teams to purchase the plant.

On 24 May 2023 it became the first Vegnese stadium to host an international competition, being chosen as the venue for the 2022–23 AEFA Champions' League final, which saw the victory of Kateki Blavisen FK against Northcliff United, on penalties .

In 2023 it was also included in the vegnese bid to host the 2024 Copa Apollonia, also proposed as a stadium for the final.

Although it was already the largest stadium in the nation with the capacity of 55,000, for the 2024 Copa Apollonia, an expansion of the seats up to 65,000 was planned and executed in a few months.

The inauguration after the first expansion works will take place on 7 July 2024, on the occasion of the opening match of the Copa Apollonia.
