Trade Unions Congress of Hurmu

The Trade Unions Congress of Hurmu purports to represent organised labour throughout the states and districts of Hurmu. Organised by activists from the Communist Workers' Party it swiftly established cadres throughout the agrarian, industrial, and transportation sectors of the economy, as well as amongst the self-employed occupants of so-called work homes who had begun to organise against perceived exploitation by their "landlord/service providers".

- Maritime and Riverine Workers Association: representing 103,990 members of the Hurmudan fishing fleet;
- Transport and Communication Workers Union: Membership in the ports and airports.
