The Government of Whales is bound up in the person and authority of the Prince of Whales and the obligations incumbent upon him as outlined in the Caprine Code and the Lawbook of Whales.

Powers and obligations

The Prince enjoys wide powers of commission and patronage, and the right to delegate these powers to designated individuals. His discretionary powers in regards to making agreements with powers, entities, organizations, companies, states, and governments, as well as to promulgate charters, and to provide for orders of chivalry, are nominally subject to the advice and consent of the House of Lords in Whales.

Duties incumbent upon the Prince include the obligation to organise, fund, and maintain:

  1. The enforcement of laws and judgments;
  2. The demesnal courts;
  3. The demesnal police;
  4. The naval and land forces, where the Prince serves commander in chief of the naval and land forces of the Principality;
  5. Specialist health care services;
  6. Post-secondary education;
  7. Intercity, interprovincial, and international public transport;
  8. The airports, spaceports, and harbours;
  9. Environmental regulations; and
  10. The retirement of civil servants.

Household of the Prince

Military Household

The Prince of Whales, residing in Walstadt, serves as commander-in-chief of the WAF, where he is served by a military household, established within his primary official residence, comprised of an adjutant with the rank of colonel, eight junior officers serving as his aides-de-camp, and twelve non-commissioned officers serving as his batmen. The civilian staff of his military household includes an eight-man close protection detail provided by the Security Directorate of the Honourable Company, a physician, and forty domestics (cooks, clerks, manservants, drivers).
