Project BU-1702-001

The Synthetic Womb Cyst Chamber (SWCC), designated as Project BU-1702-001, was constructed and operated in the city of Merensk by Kallisti Health Services Inc, in cooperation with Augur Industries Incorporated, according to schematics provided by academicians of the Benacian Academy. The Academy had, since its inception, assembled a team of experts, by various means, specialising in the reverse engineering of Deep Singers biotechnology recovered from Shimmerspring. Development and construction took place over the course of three years, with the first matter agglomeration test scheduled to be conducted in early 1705 AN, and the gestation to term of an artificially inseminated piglet embryo to take place in the following year.

Funding for such an outlandish project was received from Benacia Command and the High Presidium of the Benacian Union, both concerned with the long term impact of the Scouring upon the demographics of Benacia and mindful of the societal level resistance engendered by other parallel community programmes geared towards increasing the birth rate by more natural means. Operational control and supervision of the project was placed in the hands of the Panopticon.
