The Australisian Zaikir (Ƶ, code: AUZ) is the official currency of all constituent countries of the Union Australis. The currency is pegged at one thirtieth of the value of a gram of pure gold, and is backed by the treasury of the Union. The banknotes and coins are printed and minted by the United Bank of the South, the official bank of the Union Australis.
Design
Banknotes
The Ƶ1 banknote features Alesh Zaikir, a Parokan citizen of the Ciric Confederacy, who works as treasurer of the Union and proposed the idea of the currency; on the back of the note is the Great Southern Hall, and the motto of the Union: "In Aeternum, Semper".
The Ƶ5 banknote features King-Saint Godrîc XI, who was head of Caradia when the currency was created; on the back of the banknote is Sînpișul Castle, the Caradian royal residence, and the motto of the Union.
The Ƶ10 banknote features Avingar Holstadt, who was head of the Union and the Ciric Confederacy when the currency was created; on the back of the banknote is Factorum Centrum, the heart of the confederate capital of Mourn, and the Union motto.
The Ƶ20 banknote features King-Saint Godrick I, an important Caradian historical figure; on the back of the banknote is the Holy Sepulchre of King-Saint Godrick I, where Godrick I's ashes are, and the alternative Union motto: "Est Semper Magis".
The Ƶ50 banknote features Cedric Adsen, who was Suzerain of the Ciric Confederacy when the currency was created; on the back of the banknote is the Elder Palace, the residence of the Speaker and Suzerain of the confederacy, and the alternative Union motto.
The Ƶ100 banknote features Heilg Rodrick, the most prominent saint in the Flemic Church of Caradia; on the back of the banknote is the Aledu Monument, which is a monument in honour of the founding of Caradia in Relacul, and the alternative Union motto.
The Ƶ500 banknote features the Haizei Monument, which is a monument outside the Great Southern Hall that was built in honour of the formation of the Union; on the back of the banknote is an image of crossed swords and the saying: "Pax est Vigilandi" (In Peace there is Vigilance).
Coins
The 1ɇ coin features the profile of Ayeza Komeshki, the first Suzerain of the confederacy; on the back of the coin is the Harrowfield Memorial, which is a memorial in Stonewall of one of the more influential Speakers of the confederacy, and the Union motto.
The 5ɇ coin features the profile of Duke Alecsi XIV, who opened Caradia to the outside world; on the back of the coin is Adăpost Citadel, which is a prominent Caradian military outpost, and the alternative Union motto.
Upon the creation of the currency, there was a limited commemorative minting of Ƶ1 coins that featured the Union treasury on the front and the Great Southern Hall on the back with the word: "Excelsior" (Higher).
