The 'Big Four'
ICHL
The Intercontinental Hockey League is the most popular major 'Big Four' league and is one of two leagues which is played indoors. In the inaugural season when the league was originally known as the Florian Hockey League. The only had six teams but rapidly expanded to 24 teams the season afterwards. After this expansion to 24 teams, the league expanded again to the 32 teams from three continents for 2019 and onwards. Ice Hockey is most popular in the north and east of the country but is the rapidly growing in the newer expansion regions of the country such as Port Farrar and Dragonmoor. The ICHL is one of the most popular leagues in the world and is watched by audiences domestically and worldwide. The ICHL is the only major professional sports league in the Florian Republic that contains teams outside of the country.
Florian Super League
The Florian Super League is the highest level of play of rugby league in Apollonia. There are currently 18 teams, all located in the Florian Republic and the highest-ranked teams qualify for the FMRL World Club Championships. It is the oldest and joint second most popular professional league in the Florian Republic.
Super League Football
The top tier football competition in the Florian Republic, the league consists of 20 teams and is the only 'Big Four' league which operates a system of promotion and relegation with other leagues. Major teams include Northcliff United, Ostville Wednesday, Dragonmoor FC and Stonehall Hotspur. With the Florian Super League, both share the same popularity between sports fans.
