The Cabinet of Aerla (Commonspeak: Kabinett ov Ayrle) is the principal executive decision-making body of Aerla. It is composed of the President and nineteen Cabinet Ministers. These ministers are formally nominated by the President and must be confirmed by a majority vote of the National Assembly.

As of 1759 AN, there are nineteen ministries that are represented in the Cabinet. The creation of Cabinet Ministries require the consent of both the National Assembly and the President, although the renaming of ministries only requires the consent of the President. The newest ministry, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, was created in 1752 AN.

Previous Cabinets

Ancillary Agencies and Departments

Police Agencies

The appointment of the heads of the nation's two chief law enforcement agencies, the Criminal Police and the State Security Directorate, are handled by the President. It is customary for these appointments to be non-partisan in nature.

Presidential Press Department

The Presidential Press Department (often abbreviated as PPD) is responsible for the dissemination of information from the President and the Cabinet. It is headed by the Presidential Press Secretary.

Special Advisor to the President

The Special Advisor to the President is a political advisor to the President, who provides strategic advice, analysis, and recommendations to the president on key issues. They do not hold formal decision making power. It is customary for the Special Advisor to be from the main opposition party to the President's own, thus the position is often the official liaison between the Opposition and the President.

Meetings

The Basil Fitzroy Conference Room, where the Cabinet meets.

The Cabinet meets on Monday at noon each week. An experienced secretary takes minutes of these meetings, and these minutes are used to catalog decisions made at each meeting. The meetings are almost always chaired by the President, but may be chaired by the Minister of State if the former is absent.

Meetings are usually held in the Basil Fitzroy Conference Room, located in the Eastern Wing of the National Assembly Building in Noursala. The cabinet occasionally meets in other conference venues across the capitol for certain events and occasions. The room features a large, crescent-shaped table for members of the Cabinet with built in electronic screens for document viewing. Extra seating is available for the room for government clerks, invited dignitaries, and at times the press.

While most matters discussed in Cabinet meetings are confidential, at times the press are allowed to film certain cabinet meetings if deemed appropriate.
