The Volksheer is the branch of the Lanzerwalder Volksarmee that is responsible for the organisation of all military units that are primarily suited for land warfare. It replaced the Exercitus Aemilia in 1751 following the 1751 military coup in the Confoederatio Aemilia that led to the creation of the Lanzerwald Republic. The organisation has a long tradition, going back to the early days of the Republic of Sankt Ludwigshafen.
