The University of Walstadt is a public research university in Walstadt, in the Lanzerwald Republic. It was established in 1743, after the Confoederatio Aemilia, the predecessor state of the Lanzerwald Republic, took over control of Walstadt and Light following the Treaty of Sankt Rosa. In 1752, the university had an enrolment of circa 20,000 students and employed circa 3,000 university staff. The budget of the university was 400 million Lanzerwaldmark in that year.

The university was founded in 1743 to show that the Confoederatio Aemilia would invest in the Walstadt region to make it as wealthy as the rest of the federation, rather than be a new colonial power that would siphon out its wealth. One of the first teachers at the University of Walstadt was Nick Cartani of musical group The Combined Martyrs, another early teacher was Audon von Andelarion an den Neurändern, who was a teacher of political history until he abruptly abandoned his students in 1751.

The main focus of the university lies on life sciences and agricultural research, the university plays an important role in the development of new crops for the farmers of the Lanzerwald.
