Sypyr is a large island on the planet Micras.

Origins and Etymology

Sypyr was added to the MCS Map on version 6.7.6 by Orion as part of his plan to expand the land area on the map. It was named after a variant of Sybyr, the Tataric name for Siberia.

Geography

In the centre of Sypyr, at the river junction, the topography is level and lowlying. However, the eastern and western ends of the island are more mountainous. Mount Yulia (22130ft) is the highest peak, in the southeast of the island.

History

Sypyr remained unihabited until verion 7.0.6, where the Kingdom of Ibelin occupied around 40% of the island on the Western side. In the time between versions 8.0.0 and 8.0.1, the Kingdom of Ibelin vacated the MCS map, leaving Sypyr unoccupied. It was left empty until version 9.0.0 when Beaugium occupied the whole island. Beaugium vacated Sypyr at version 10.1 and the islands remained empty until version 10.5b when Novatainia claimed around 60% of the island. Gralus later occupied the entire island. The eastern end is now the only settled portion, held as a territory of Sanama.
