The 1699 elections for the 2nd National Assembly of Klaasiya were the second elections in the demesne since the new Constitution. The election was held on 5 Sonnuber 1699 AN, exactly 6 years after the previous election.

Election campaign

The 1699 campaign was conducted in sharp contrast to the contentions race six years prior. The FJBP-DP coalution, established following the previous election, enjoyed relative support among the population. In particular, the FJBP Chair of the Assembly, Glen Penhela was a popular figure among both coalution partners, in addition to their supporters. Throughout the campaign, the FJBP and the DP maintained a united front, with few infighthings between individual members. Despite running separate campaigns, the media largely reported news under the assumption that the coalition will continue in government, should it maintain its majority.

The Nationalist & Humanist Party's campaign also saw significant differences in its execution compared to the loss of 1693. Under the new and reformed leadership of Greg Prown, the party positioned itself as the "one and only chance of a new government" and adopted popular centrist policies. In particular, it focused heavily on winning over socially liberal and fiscally conservative youngesters in traditionally Democratic strongholds, such as Borders Bay. Under Prown, the party's election slogan became "diversified in our backgrounds, united in our convictions".
