Meqael Mizarielion

Meqael Mizarielion (sometimes written Michael in Istvanistani, and Mizarierion in the Illumination dialect of Elw), born 1644 in Illumination, is an Elwynn former politician for the Ayreonist Independence Party, Conducător and head of the of the Congressional Government 1676–1681. Minister in all congressional governments except Nila Valgarai's second cabinet until his arrest in 1681. Rose to prominence in the 1676 princely elections where he surprised pundits with reaching the second round. He ultimately lost to Frederik Haabye Truls, however, but was given the consolation price of leading the congressional government. Mizarielion has since 1676 led five congressional governments. They are generally seen as a series of weak and unstable governments, and he has since the late 1670s had low approval ratings. Despite that, his party surged in the 1680 congressional elections, and his reformed cabinet survived a confidence vote. Deposed from the government in 1681 by Prince Frederik Haabye Truls. Arrested for violating national security, awaiting trial.
