Early Life and Education

Irma de Gaugin was born on 2.V.1658 AN in Triegon, Alexandria. Her early life was marked by the tumultuous events of the Alexandrian flu and the Hammish Civil War, which influenced her perspective on media and journalism. Growing up in a household deeply rooted in intellectualism and journalistic integrity, she was inspired by her mother, Countess Eleanor of Gaugin, and her achievements. Irma attended the prestigious Imperial University of Alexandria where she majored in Journalism and Mass Communication. She graduated with honors in 1679 AN and began her career working for various media outlets, gaining experience in reporting, editing, and media management.

Career

In 1684 AN, she joined Eclat Magazine as a senior editor, working closely with her mother to transform the publication into one of Nouvelle Alexandrie’s leading media outlets.

Eclat Media Group

Following the death of her mother in 1701 AN, Irma became embroiled in a legal battle over the ownership of Eclat Magazine. The case, de Gaugin Estate v. de Gertrudis, ended in her favor, granting her control of the media empire. In 1702 AN, she made the pivotal decision to sell a majority stake to Kerularios & Company, which led to the formation of the Eclat Media Group. As CEO of Eclat Media Group, Irma has overseen its expansion into digital media, television, and international editions. Under her leadership, the group has launched several successful media ventures and continues to uphold the high standards of journalism established by her mother.

Philanthropy

Irma de Gaugin is also known for her philanthropic efforts. She established the Eleanor Gaugin Foundation, dedicated to supporting journalism scholarships, documentary filmmaking grants, and media literacy programs. The foundation has significantly contributed to the education and training of aspiring journalists in Nouvelle Alexandrie.

Irma married Enrique Martinez in 1684 AN, and the couple has three children: Eleanor Martinez (b. 1685 AN), Felipe Martinez (b. 1687 AN), and Isabel Martinez (b. 1690 AN). She resides in Punta Santiago, Alduria, where she continues to lead Eclat Media Group and engage in various philanthropic activities.
