Irma attended the prestigious Imperial University of Alexandria where she majored in Journalism and Mass Communication. She graduated with honors in 1679 AN and began her career working for various media outlets, gaining experience in reporting, editing, and media management.
Career
In 1684 AN, she joined Eclat Magazine as a senior editor, working closely with her mother to transform the publication into one of Nouvelle Alexandrie’s leading media outlets.
Eclat Media Group
Following the death of her mother in 1701 AN, Irma became embroiled in a legal battle over the ownership of Eclat Magazine. The case, de Gaugin Estate v. de Gertrudis, ended in her favor, granting her control of the media empire. In 1702 AN, she made the pivotal decision to sell a majority stake to Kerularios & Company, which led to the formation of the Eclat Media Group. As CEO of Eclat Media Group, Irma has overseen its expansion into digital media, television, and international editions. Under her leadership, the group has launched several successful media ventures and continues to uphold the high standards of journalism established by her mother.
Philanthropy
Irma de Gaugin is also known for her philanthropic efforts. She established the Eleanor Gaugin Foundation, dedicated to supporting journalism scholarships, documentary filmmaking grants, and media literacy programs.
