Under 21
Russell was captain of the Florian national Under 21 team at the 2020 Colney Cup and led the team to a silver medal beating favourites and hosts Senya along the way.
Style of play
In scouting reports made once Russell was made available from the CÓNECT academy, it stated that Russell that was a physically strong player who was brilliant due to his elevation, eye for goal, and heading accuracy, making him a goal threat on set-pieces. Russell was especially praised on his ability to make strong, aggressive slide tackles on opponents. In addition to his impressive defensive skills and goal-scoring ability, Russell had excellent pace, technical ability, as well as good distribution, passing, and crossing ability. Russell was also noted as an accurate and confident penalty taker.
