Founded by Makato Muda in 2000, the team was transferred to the Matabese Royal Family 2 years into the founding due to the club's success and has remained the same. The club won the Daau League in the 2003-04 season and has also won the Matabese Cup 4 times since its founding. Although never played in the [[Liga Mataba]], DPMM is never comparable to [[Sultan FC]] as to the Matabese people, DPMM will always be the people's club.

Mataba DPMM was transferred under [[Haikal el Hamid]], the cousin to the Matabese crown prince [[Mohammad Rahndesh]][[Kinasha Rohamidi|i]] on the 2nd of July 2002 following their application success to the [[Daau League]]. Following the takeover, it was rumored that the club would return to Mataba but was rejected due to the ambitions set by the new chairman. The Royals are highly regarded in Mataba due to their status and their financial prowess to operate in an overseas league.
