Station Kaamiozyr (Elw for "liberty") is an Elwynnese bailiwick, station and town, located on the eastern coast of South Feanoria Island on the equator. Prior to 1690, it was a nominally Chrysean colony ruled feudally by the House of Laegel, with Tarr people, enslaved by former Viceroy Isor Isor from Graecia's communist regime, forming the indentured serfs on the territory. After Chryse's accession to Elwynn, the Tarr people were liberated and given civil rights. The colony was extended and brought under the direct rule of Elwynnese central government (i.e. not part of an autonomous country). The population of Kaamiozyr comprised at its height of 264,134 settlers and its supporting garrison of 3,487 personnel until 1692, when it came under the control of the separatist Republic of Tarrland. Following the reconquest of the island the Tarr settler community was exterminated, leaving the population of Station Kaamiozyr to comprise almost entirely of deployed personnel. The facility, falling outside the bounds of the Benacian Union is administered by Keltia Command of the Raspur Pact on behalf of Elluenuueq.
Garrison
Station Kaamiozyr is protected by a detachment from the Maritime Support Group (MSG), directly engaged by Keltia Command for the purpose, that is contracted to consist of no less than 2% of the total force of the MSG. A UDF base located on the site of the station consists of an anchorage, wharf, landing strip, storage facilities, and hardened shelters, enclosed by an anti-tank ditch, turf wall, and a belt of barbed wire and concrete pillboxes on the landward side. UDF personnel at the site, comprising of 0.5% of the Garrison in Normark, may be found undertaking six month tours of duty on detachment from their parent units.
The MSG and UDF garrison was supported by a demi-regiment of labourers raised from amongst the Tarr settlers. This "sustainment demi-regiment" was locally engaged in service by the station itself and did not count towards the manning of the UDF. Members of the demi-regiment were doubly unfortunate, being the subject of a mass lynching by the rebel Tarr as collaborators only for the survivors to be massacred by the Humanist Vanguard upon the subsequent recapture of the station.
