Ionel Constantinescu (1520–1602), born into a Caradian community in the Green of 1520, was a Hurmu metallurgist, statesman, and senator (elected 1548, its chairman, 1550–1554). Immigrated to Hurmu in 1540 with a group of his band, and was selected as their representative in the Senate in 1548. His people skills brought him to become the Chairman of the Senate in 1550, a position he held until 1554, when he resigned his place in the Senate to attend to matters of family, art, and metallurgy.
He and his family all perished during the Hurmu genocide.
