The Pontus national football team was the football team which represented the micronation of Pontus. It was a member of the EMUFA. The team was the official successor of A1, and as such retained its records.

History

The team was founded in early 2013 after Pontus, the successor state to A1, successfully claimed on Micras. Under the name of A1, the team competed in the 2011 World Cup qualifiers, where they finished third in their four-team group.

The A1 team also competed in the following year's qualifying, but could only finish bottom of their five-team group.

In the 2014 qualifiers, their first as Pontus, the team lost all six of their matches as they finished bottom of their four-team group.

In the following year's qualifiers, the team again finished bottom of their six-team group, below Haifa on goal difference, with seven points.

The qualifying rounds for EMU 2016 saw the team finish bottom of their four-team group with no points to their name after losing all of their matches.

The team finished fourth in their five-team 2017 World Cup qualifying group with six points.

The team competed in the 2018 EMU Championships qualification rounds, where they finished fourth in their five-team group with seven points. Pontus left Micras in late 2018.
