Regional Governor of the Isles of Caputia
The Regional Governor of the Isles of Caputia is the chief executive of the Region of the Isles of Caputia within the Federation of Nouvelle Alexandrie. The Governor is responsible for the administration of regional government, implementation of laws passed by the Congress of the Isles, and representation of Caputian interests within the federal system. The office was established upon the Isles of Caputia's admission to the Federation in 1687 AN. The Governor is elected by popular vote to a five-year term and may seek re-election. With approximately 27.5 million inhabitants, the Isles of Caputia is among the more populous island Regions in the Federation and maintains a distinct cultural heritage rooted in its Caputian and Hammish past.
The current Regional Governor is Heinrich von Staufen of the Federal Humanist Party. Von Staufen won the 1749 gubernatorial election with 72% of the vote, the largest margin of any Regional Governor elected that year.
