Zumerhaven, lit. "Summer Haven" in Crandish, is a city located on the Vaan Aujoen isles that also serves as capital of the Vaan Aujoen territory that is part of the Grand Duchy of Lac Glacei. It is one of the oldest cities on Micras, dating back to around 1490 AN. The name of the city is an allusion to the twenty-four hours of sunlight experienced in the far northern hemisphere for half of the year. Although historically a small whaling village, its remoteness has helped keep it and the rest of the Vaanen out of most conflicts over the intervening centuries. Under the governorship of Lac Glacei the city has seen a surge in tourism, with most industry moving away from traditional professions (whaling was banned in 1600) and a growth in technology.
