The Temple of Yingzhang is one of the few large complexes in both the city, as the Province. It was constructed during the 1640's, when Jing missionaries settled in the region. It came under the protection of the local khan and the town soon became an important meeting centre between the clans (even before the region's annexation).

Yingzhang is one of the few cities within the Mengtian Province that are inhabited throughout the year. It's traditionally the gathering place of many important tribal leaders and village chiefs to commemorate and honour the Heavenly Light during the winter festivities. Therefore, it houses the largest temple complex in the border lands. It's also a habit that each clan within Mengtian sends at least one child to the Temple of Yingtzhang to learn the Tianchaodao.

The gifts, meant as yearly tribute to the Heavenly Light, are gathered on the town square. Many clans try to showcase their wealth and influence during the event. The family with the most valuable gift has the honour of travelling to the Imperial Palace in Daocheng to present those to the Emperor.
