Vegnian (vegniano [veɲjˈano] or lingua vegniana) is a language, derived from the Gaian language, mainly spoken in Vegno, in north-east Apollonia. Vegnian is the official language in Vegno and Overseas Vegno. Almost all native Vegnian words end with vowels and has a 7-vowel sound system ('e' and 'o' have mid-low and mid-high sounds). Vegnian has contrast between short and long consonants and gemination (doubling) of consonants.
Geographic distribution
Vegnian is the official language in Vegno and Overseas Vegno (actually only San Lucido). However, it is estimated that it is spoken in other parts of the world as a minority, especially in Apollonia and Benacia.

Classification
Vegnian is a Romance language, a descendant of Gaian language and it's based on Standard Italian.
It has a lexical similarity of 90% with Gaian language and 92% with Cisamarrese language, both derived from Gaian. It was inserted, right together with these two, in the Organizzazione Internazionale della Lingua Gaianiana
