Underground Railway Network

It is common for "stations" along the network to be marked with this: a triangle with a small circle in it. If the circle is open (or not filled in), it means it is open, with vacancies. If the circle is filled or shaded in, it means it is closed or at capacity. A line across the circle represents that the place was raided. This largely remained a secret from regime forces until it was too late.

The Underground Railway Network is a clandestine resistance organization that emerged in late XIII.1744 AN to assist individuals threatened by the National Salvation Council's security apparatus in escaping Oportia.[1] The network operates safe houses, escape routes, and communication systems designed to protect those targeted by the military regime's Vermian Recalibration System and related persecution campaigns.

Father Antoine Dumariel of the Alexandrian Nazarene Church of Saint-Marc in Vanie emerged as a key coordinator, using his parish facilities to shelter resistance members and coordinate escape operations. The network has established routes through Constancia, Zeed, Nouvelle Alexandrie, and Natopia, utilizing both traditional smuggling paths and modern communication technologies. By XV.1744 AN, the Underground Railway had assisted an estimated 800 individuals in escaping Oportia, including former government officials, journalists, academics, and resistance activists.
