Saint Andre Free Zone
The Saint Andre Free Zone (SAFZ) is a major special economic and logistics area located in the city of Port St. Andre, within the demesne of Saint Andre, Natopia. Established in 1710 AN by executive order of the Natopian government to expedite the reception and processing of trade fleets, the zone encompasses over 28 square kilometers surrounding the Port of Saint Andre and serves as a customs-exempt corridor designed to facilitate rapid trade, logistics, and defense-related commerce within southern Apollonia. The zone is overseen by the Saint Andre Free Zone Authority (SAFZA), a semi-autonomous regulatory body headquartered within the zone itself.
The SAFZ hosts a range of industries including container shipping, military equipment maintenance, bonded warehousing, light manufacturing, and intelligence-adjacent logistics. It is closely tied to the Neridian Commodities Exchange and forms part of a broader economic ecosystem that includes the OAMEX corporate headquarters and regional operations of the Southern Apollonia Logistics & Security Group (SALSG), a major private military contractor. The Grand Commissariat and the General Inspectorate of Apollonia Command also maintain cantonments in the enclave, leveraging efficiencies from being colocated with major manufacturing and logistical partners.
In recent years, the zone has processed an estimated 35% of all non-agricultural container throughput in Natopia and played a crucial role in the logistics behind multinational evacuation operations such as Operation Whispering Harbor.
