Statthalterrettichshafen

Statthalterrettichshafen, also known as Rettichshafen, is a small harbour town on the Aemilian island-state of Statthalter-Adam-Rettichs-Hafen. The city was founded in 1711 following the Treaty of the Stadtholder Adam Rettich Harbour, between the Lanzerwald and the Imperial Federation. The treaty allowed the construction of a small harbour open to ships sailing under the flags of Lanzerwald and the Imperial Federation, on the western part of the island, which was then known as Bomei Island, part of the Imperial Federation.

The harbour was established by settlers and fishers from the Republic of the United Cities in the Lanzerwald, with permission from the Imperial Federation. The harbour is named after Adam Rettich, the last stadtholder of the Republic of Sankt Ludwigshafen. The main function of the harbour was to provide a fish auction for the Lanzerwaldian fishing fleet, to sell its catch to buyers in the Imperial Federation. There were also warehouses for the storage of dry goods, to be sold to customers in the Imperial Federation, or to be shipped to the Lanzerwald. Other services included ship and sail repair shops, as well as limited dry-dock facilities and entertainment.

Following the demise of the Imperial Federation in 1761, the harbour was used to bring the Kriegskorps Ludwigshafen ashore, which was sent by Aimée Isabelle to bring the island under the control of the Confoederatio Aemilia, a successor state to the Lanzerwald Republic.
